Daniel Craig to give away his millions before he dies as 'inheritances are distasteful'

Daniel Craig has declared he won’t be living his millions to his children after he dies - believing inheritance to be ‘distasteful’.

The No Time To Die actor is due to be seen as James Bond for the last time later this year, ending a 15-year and five-film run as the super spy.

Speaking about the future in a new interview, Craig spoke about the legacy he wanted to leave behind for both the world and his family.

As part of it, he stated he hoped to give away his fortune to help others, rather than leave excessive wealth to his children.

"Isn't there an old adage that if you die a rich person, you've failed?” the actor told Candis magazine.

"I think Andrew Carnegie [an American industrialist] gave away what in today's money would be about 11 billion dollars, which shows how rich he was because I'll bet he kept some of it, too!”

"But I don't want to leave great sums to the next generation,” he continued. “I think inheritance is quite distasteful.

"My philosophy is get rid of it or give it away before you go."

Craig has two daughters - eldest Ella with ex-wife Fiona Loudon, and a second with wife Rachel Weisz, which was born last year.

The couple has opted to keep the baby’s name private.

No Time To Die is currently slated for release on September 30 in the UK, following multiple pushbacks due to the pandemic.

It was originally slated for a November 2019 release, but was pushed back for the first time before production finished, due to the exit of director Danny Boyle.

Since then, the date has been moved no less than four times, in order to allow the film to be shown in cinemas.

Joining Craig in the cast is Rami Malek, Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Christoph Waltz and Naomie Harris.
