Health authorities in Greece announced on Thursday that 55 people died from the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, a significantly smaller number of casualties compared to the last weeks.
They also announced 873 new cases of the virus and 475 patients are intubated throughout the country.
Earlier, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis chaired a double meeting on the epidemiological situation and the implementation of the National Vaccination Plan, held at the Maximos Mansion.
According to government sources, the first part of the meeting was devoted to reviewing the epidemiological data and highlighted that there must be no relaxation of the measures, while reaffirming the state’s readiness for their strict implementation during the holidays.
The second part of the meeting confirmed that everything is going according to plan regarding the National Vaccination Plan and examined the final details for the rapid roll-out of the first phase, upon the arrival of the first Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines in Greece.
