First Covid-19 Vaccine Given to Greek Public December 27

It is official: the first coronavirus vaccines were administered in Greece and across the European Union on Sunday, December 27, 2020.

A new, brighter chapter gradually begins, offering a glimpse of hope to all those who have suffered so much from this terrible situation.

The vaccination against COVID-19 started at the Attica region hospitals Evangelismos, Sotiria, Attikon, Thriasio, and Asklipiio Voulas.

First to be vaccinated was Eustathia Kampisiouli, an ICU nurse, and Michael Giovanidis, an 88-year old man, hosted at an elderly people care unit of Athens.

In a symbolic gesture, the President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, was vaccinated right after Kampisiouli and Giovanidis.

Speaking to reporters right after her vaccination, President Sakellaropoulou said that this Christmas, the best present was offered to us by science, and she said that the EU, by managing to distribute these vaccines across Europe, proved that it’s a Union of Solidarity.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis followed next in the Atticon Hospital. The PM was cheerful, saying right after the vaccination that it was ”absolutely non-painful.”

Speaking to reporters a few moments later, Mitsotakis noted that ”Today is a very important day for science, a great day for the EU which delivered the vaccine to all of the EU member states at the same day, making the European solidarity reality.”

Speaker of the House Constantinos Tassoulas, MeRA25 Party Leader Yanis Varoufakis, Ministry of Health Representative for the Coronavirus, Professor Sotiris Tsiodras, Head of the National Defence General Staff, General Constantinos Floros, Bishop of Nafpaktos Ierotheos and President of the National Vaccination Committee Maria Theodoridou got the first dose of the vaccine on Sunday too.

The leader of the Opposition Alexis Tsipras, Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias, and the General Secretary of the Primary Healthcare Service of Greece Marios Themistokleous will be vaccinated tomorrow, Monday, at the Evangelismos Hospital in Athens.

Μουσακάς με κολοκύθια και πουρέ πατάτας

Εκτέλεση Τσιγαρίζετε στο ελαιόλαδο το ψιλοκομμένο κρεμμύδι, προσθέτετε τον κιμά, αλάτι, πιπέρι, την τομάτα, ένα φλιτζάνι τσαγιού νερό και σιγοβράζετε μέχρι να ψηθεί ο κιμάς. Κόβετε τα κολοκύθια σε ψιλές φέτες, τα αλευρώνετε και τα τηγανίζετε. Ετοιμάζετε τον πουρέ, σύμφωνα με τις οδηγίες του κουτιού, χρησιμοποιώντας όμως μόνο γάλα. Στη συνέχεια προσθέτετε το βούτυρο, την κρέμα γάλακτος και ανακατεύετε καλά. Greek, Armenian Genocide Recognized by the Netherlands
