Greece is now marked as ”green” in the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) maps for the coronavirus.
This is because the test positivity rate of the COVID-19 fell below four percent and the notification rate is lower than 25 cases per 100,000 people in the country.
The maps are based on data reported by the EU Member States to The European Surveillance System (TESSy) database by 23:59 every Tuesday.
The optimistic message on the downward trend of the epidemic was also noted during the latest briefing of the representative of the Health Ministry’s scientists committee in Athens earlier this week.
However, the experts urged the people to continue to be very cautious and to strictly observe the protection measures as “the epidemic may get worse in a very short time but its de-escalation is slow and difficult.”
