Plane Writes “200” in the Sky to Honor Greek War of Independence

Aegean Airlines took to the blue skies over Greece to honor the 200 years that have passed since the start of the Greek War of Independence on March 25, 1821.

An Airbus 320 from the Greek airline flew over the Peloponnesian Peninsula, inscribing “200” in the air over the country.

The special trip departed from Elefterios Venezelos Airport in Athens on the morning of Wednesday, March 24, one day before the bicentennial celebration in the country.

After flying over 20,000 feet over the land, soaring over the Peloponnesian peninsula, the Aegean aircraft touched down in the afternoon at the airport in Athens.

Celebrating the bicentennial of the Greek War of Independence

Foreign dignitaries, including Prince Charles, and Russian, British and French officials arrived in the country on Wednesday on the occasion of the bicentennial of the Greek War of Independence.

After a meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the foreign leaders attended the opening of Greece’s newly-remodeled National Gallery of Art. They will then gather at a state dinner hosted by Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

The many events will lead up to the monumental military parade planned for March 25, a date that marks 200 years since the beginning of the Greek War of Independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1821.

The military parade will take place in front of the Greek Parliament and the Monument to the Unknown Soldier at Syntagma Square on Thursday morning.

Μουσακάς με κολοκύθια και πουρέ πατάτας

Εκτέλεση Τσιγαρίζετε στο ελαιόλαδο το ψιλοκομμένο κρεμμύδι, προσθέτετε τον κιμά, αλάτι, πιπέρι, την τομάτα, ένα φλιτζάνι τσαγιού νερό και σιγοβράζετε μέχρι να ψηθεί ο κιμάς. Κόβετε τα κολοκύθια σε ψιλές φέτες, τα αλευρώνετε και τα τηγανίζετε. Ετοιμάζετε τον πουρέ, σύμφωνα με τις οδηγίες του κουτιού, χρησιμοποιώντας όμως μόνο γάλα. Στη συνέχεια προσθέτετε το βούτυρο, την κρέμα γάλακτος και ανακατεύετε καλά. Greek, Armenian Genocide Recognized by the Netherlands
