Covid-19 : Greece Records Highest Number of Intubated Patients Monday

A record number of patients with Covid-19 in Greece are on ventilators Monday.

The total number of people undergoing the intensive and invasive treatment, which involves placing a tube down a patient’s throat to assist breathing, has reached 738 in Greece.

Monday’s figure breaks the previous record of 735, which was recorded just yesterday, on Sunday.

Tragically, 65 people with the coronavirus passed away in the country over the past 24-hour period, which is 11 more than those who died with the virus on Sunday.

Greece identified a total of 1,724 Covid-19 cases in the country on Monday, 275 more than the 1,449 cases diagnosed in Greece on Sunday.

A total of 15,607 coronavirus tests were conducted across the country during the day, bringing the positivity rate to 11.04% in Greece.

773 cases of Covid-19 diagnosed Attica alone; 241 in Thessaloniki

Of the 1,724 coronavirus cases recorded in Greece in the past 24 hours, 773 were located in Attica, home to the Greek capital city of Athens.

Instances of the virus were particularly high in the center of the city itself, where 178 cases of Covid-19 were identified Monday.

Piraeus, Athens’ port city, had a total of 161 instances of the virus on Monday.

Tests showed that in Thessaloniki, Greece’s second-largest city, a total of 241 cases of Covid-19 had been diagnosed in the last 24 hours.

Total 255,755 coronavirus cases in Greece since the start of the pandemic

Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 255,755 cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in the country, including all those who have recovered from the virus.

Of the cases diagnosed in Greece in the past seven days, just 72 are associated with foreign travel and 2,162 have been linked to contact with a known case.

Of the 738 patients intubated currently, 82.5% are over the age of 70 or suffer from preexisting conditions. Their average age is 68.

On Monday alone, 456 people with the coronavirus were admitted to hospitals in Greece.

Additionally, a total of 1,677 patients have been discharged from ICUs around the country since the beginning of the pandemic.

The 65 new deaths recorded on Monday bring the total number of fatalities in the country to 7,945; 95.7% of those who have passed away with the virus were over the age of 70 or suffered from underlying health issues.

Εκτέλεση Τσιγαρίζετε στο ελαιόλαδο το ψιλοκομμένο κρεμμύδι, προσθέτετε τον κιμά, αλάτι, πιπέρι, την τομάτα, ένα φλιτζάνι τσαγιού νερό και σιγοβράζετε μέχρι να ψηθεί ο κιμάς. Κόβετε τα κολοκύθια σε ψιλές φέτες, τα αλευρώνετε και τα τηγανίζετε. Ετοιμάζετε τον πουρέ, σύμφωνα με τις οδηγίες του κουτιού, χρησιμοποιώντας όμως μόνο γάλα. Στη συνέχεια προσθέτετε το βούτυρο, την κρέμα γάλακτος και ανακατεύετε καλά. Greek, Armenian Genocide Recognized by the Netherlands
