Ισραήλ: Τρίτη δόση εμβολίου για όσους είναι πάνω από 60

Η κυβέρνηση του Ισραήλ κάλεσε τους εμβολιασμένους πολίτες άνω των 60 ετών να κάνουν και τρίτη δόση του εμβολίου για την Covid-19, ανακοίνωσε σήμερα ο πρωθυπουργός Ναφτάλι Μπένετ.

Λόγω της αύξησης των περιστατικών, ένα γεγονός που συνδέεται με την εξάπλωση της παραλλαγής Δέλτα, η χώρα «ξεκινά μια εκστρατεία αναμνηστικού εμβολιασμού» από αυτήν την Κυριακή. Η φάση αυτή θα αφορά τα άτομα άνω των 60 ετών που εμβολιάστηκαν πριν από έξι και πλέον μήνες, ανέφερε ο Μπένετ στο τηλεοπτικό διάγγελμά του. Ο πρώτος που θα κάνει την ενισχυτική δόση θα είναι ο πρόεδρος της χώρας, ο Ισαάκ Χέρτσογκ, πρόσθεσε.

«Τα ευρήματα δείχνουν ότι με τον καιρό υπάρχει πτώση στην ανοσία του σώματος. Ο στόχος της συμπληρωματικής δόσης είναι να την ενισχύσουμε ξανά, μειώνοντας έτσι τις πιθανότητες μόλυνσης και σοβαρής ασθένειας», πρόσθεσε ο Μπένετ. «Καλώ όλους τους ηλικιωμένους που έκαναν τη δεύτερη δόση να πάνε να κάνουν και τη συμπληρωματική. Το πρώτο τηλεφώνημα που θα κάνω, αφού ολοκληρώσω την ομιλία μου, θα είναι προς το πιο αγαπημένο μου πρόσωπο, τη μητέρα μου, ώστε να την πάω να εμβολιαστεί αμέσως», συνέχισε.

Η εταιρεία Pfizer ανέφερε την Τετάρτη ότι πιστεύει πως χρειάζεται η επιπρόσθετη δόση ώστε να διατηρηθεί σε υψηλά επίπεδα η προστασία απέναντι στον κορωνοϊό. Σκοπεύει μάλιστα να υποβάλει αίτηση για κατεπείγουσα χρήση των αναμνηστικών δόσεων στις ΗΠΑ εντός του Αυγούστου.

Ο Μπένετ είπε ότι η κυβέρνησή του ελπίζει ότι οι νέες προσπάθειες προώθησης του εμβολιασμού θα επιτρέψουν στο Ισραήλ να αποφύγει τα δαπανηρά λοκντάουν.
