Το Ισραήλ προετοιμάζει δεύτερο γύρο εμβολιασμών κατά της Covid-19 - Αναμένει να συμπεριλάβει παιδιά

Το Ισραήλ σχεδιάζει έναν δεύτερο γύρο εμβολιασμών κατά της Covid-19 σε έξι μήνες και μέχρι τότε αναμένεται οι ρυθμιστικές αρχές υγείας να έχουν δώσει το πράσινο φως για τον εμβολιασμό των παιδιών, δήλωσε σήμερα ο πρωθυπουργός Μπενιαμίν Νετανιάχου.

Περίπου το 81% των Ισραηλινών πολιτών ή κατοίκων άνω των 16 ετών, η επιλέξιμη ηλικιακή ομάδα για το εμβόλιο της Pfizer στο Ισραήλ, έχει λάβει και τις δύο δόσεις σε μία από τις ταχύτερες εκστρατείες παγκοσμίως.

Το Ισραήλ έχει πει ότι σχεδιάζει να χορηγήσει εμβόλια σε ανήλικους 12-15 ετών μόλις αυτό πάρει την έγκριση της Αμερικανικής Υπηρεσίας Τροφίμων και Φαρμάκων (FDA). Η Pfizer και ο συνέταιρός της BioNTech ζήτησαν την επείγουσα άδεια της FDA νωρίτερα αυτόν τον μήνα για χρήση του εμβολίου σε αυτήν την ηλικιακή ομάδα.

Σε δηλώσεις που έκανε σήμερα σε τηλεοπτικά δίκτυα, ο Νετανιάχου είπε πως το Ισραήλ συμφώνησε με τις Pfizer και Moderna να αγοράσει 16 εκατομμύρια επιπλέον δόσεις για τη χώρα με πληθυσμό 9,3 εκατομμυρίων, ενώ πρόσθεσε:

«Προετοιμαζόμαστε για μια άλλη εκστρατεία εμβολιασμού σε έξι μήνες».

«Ετοιμάστε τους ώμους και τους μύες σας, εάν θέλετε, και επίσης τα παιδιά, διότι εκτιμάμε ότι θα έχουν εγκριθεί έως τότε εμβόλια για τα παιδιά», σημείωσε.

Το Ισραήλ συμπεριλαμβάνει τους Παλαιστίνιους της Ανατολικής Ιερουσαλήμ στον πληθυσμό του και έχει χορηγήσει εμβόλια κι εκεί.

Οι 5,2 εκατομμύρια Παλαιστίνιοι στην κατεχόμενη Δυτική Όχθη και την ελεγχόμενη από τη Χαμάς Λωρίδα της Γάζας έχουν λάβει περιορισμένες προμήθειες εμβολίων, που τους παρείχαν το Ισραήλ, η Ρωσία, τα Ηνωμένα Αραβικά Εμιράτα, το πρόγραμμα Covax και η Κίνα. Περίπου 167.000 έχουν ήδη λάβει τουλάχιστον μία δόση, σύμφωνα με το παλαιστινιακό υπουργείο Υγείας.
