Μανώλης Γλέζος: Πάντα όρθιος!

Σήμερα μια ολόκληρη χώρα θρηνεί ένα άνθρωπο που σε όλη του τη ζωή δεν σταμάτησε να είναι με τη μεριά του δίκιου και της λευτεριάς

Υπάρχει μια φωτογραφία του Γλέζου που τα λέει όλα.
Όρθιος, πριν λίγα χρόνια, να καταθέτει στεφάνι στο Πολυτεχνείο.

Κακός καιρός και βροχή, αυτός εκεί: να στηρίζεται στο μπαστούνι του για να μπορεί να σηκώσει τη γροθιά του.
Στην ηλικία του κανείς δεν θα του είχε πει οτιδήποτε, εάν δεν είχε πάει.
Όμως αυτός πήγε.
Γιατί κάποιοι άνθρωποι απλώς δεν μπορούσαν να λείψουν όποτε η ιστορία τους κάλεσε.
Και ο Γλέζος την ιστορία την κοίταξε στα μάτια και ανταποκρίθηκε πρόθυμα στα καλέσματα.
«Ήρωες με δώδεκα ζωές», έλεγε το παλιό αντάρτικο. Και στην περίπτωση του Γλέζου αυτό ισχύει και με το παραπάνω.
Από την εφηβική του παλικαριά μαζί με τον Λάκη Σάντα, που τους έκανε σύμβολο του αντιφασιστικού αγώνα σε όλο τον κόσμο, παλικαριά που –ας μην το ξεχνάμε– «ανταμείφθηκε» μεταπολεμικά με καταδίκες σε θάνατο και φυλακίσεις, στη δράση του μέσα στην Αριστερά, στη συμμετοχή του σε όλους τους αγώνες μετά, στο μεγάλο συγγραφικό του έργο, στο γεγονός ότι ακόμη και στα 88 του δεν δίστασε να είναι στην πρώτη γραμμή απέναντι στα δακρυγόνα, στο πώς το 2015 ύψωσε το ανάστημά του ενάντια στη συνθηκολόγηση.
Ο Γλέζος ήταν πάντα εκεί.
Δεν ήταν ποτέ «σύμβολο».
Ανήσυχο πνεύμα ήταν και σκεπτόμενο.
Με αμφισβήτηση σε γραφειοκρατικές λογικές και πρακτικές διαδρόμων.
Ξεροκέφαλος αλλά και ανοιχτόκαρδος.
Δίνοντας όχι συμβουλές αλλά το παράδειγμα.
Αιώνιος έφηβος με ένα σπινθηροβόλο βλέμμα ακόμη και στα πιο βαθιά γεράματα.
Στην κηδεία του Γλέζου δεν θα μπορέσει δυστυχώς να υπάρξει η λαοθάλασσα, η μεγάλη συγκέντρωση που θα του αναλογούσε, με χιλιάδες ανθρώπους να τον αποχαιρετούν με υψωμένες γροθιές και βουρκωμένα μάτια.
Μπορούμε όμως να κάνουμε κάτι άλλο: να κρατήσουμε καλά το μάθημα που διαρκώς μας έδινε ο Μανώλης Γλέζος.
Ότι στη ζωή τίποτα δεν κερδίζεται χωρίς αγώνα.
Ούτε υπάρχει αγώνας που πάει χαμένος.
Χαμένος είναι ο αγώνας που δεν γίνεται.
Και όποιος στη ζωή του δεν αντιστέκεται και δεν παλεύει για το δίκιο, απλώς τη χαραμίζει.
