According to Greece’s Civil Aviation Authority, passengers on international flights are now being obligated to fill out a Passenger Locator Form prior to entering the country.
The announcement came from an air safety notice that was issued on Saturday, June 27. The CAA specified “All travelers are required to complete their PLF at least 48 hours before their check-in and provide information about the departure airport, their address, time of stay in Greece and other details as specified with the form.”
The form is said to be a key element in Greece’s larger initiative in protecting its citizens while preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
Passengers will be mandated to complete the form starting on the same day that the air safety notice was issued, and will stay in effect until Monday, August 31, 2020.
The European Union is also expected to begin deliberations on June 27 to decide which countries are allowed to have their citizens travel internationally to Greece.
The PLF can be found here in English. The information that passengers provide will be cross-listed to determine where the information is factual or not.
The Civil Protection website also outlines specific protocols for those arriving to Greece by either plane, sea or via land borders below the PLF link. Incoming tourists are also required to wear masks and gloves while complying with these regulations.
